| Different
external and internal factors can be considered as contributing to
obtaining unfavorable development of the surgery.
Intrinsec
conditions
 | Systemic
illnesses like diabetis, arteritis, autoimmune diseases,
hypertension, infections, collagene diseases, liver insufficiency,
kidney insufficiency, heart conditions can contribute to
complications and unfavorable results.
Thus, in the presence of one of these conditions, one should be
treated for, before undergoing cosmetic surgery. |
Extrinsic
factors
 | Exposure
to the sun is to be avoided on the area involved by surgery during a
period of 3 to 6 months.
 | Tobacco
is a very harmfull agent and acts as a drug which affects the
quality of healing by deteriorating the quality of small vessels
which act as the basic pillar to bring healing factors to the
tissues. It is absolutely compulsory to stop smoking at least 3
weeks before and 3 months after surgeries in which tissue
vascularisation are of extreme importance such as face, breast,
abdomen, arm, thigh liftings.
 | Any
head surgery (nose, ear, rhytidectomies) must be followed by a
sitting position with attention to avoid lowering head in the bed or
in any activity during one week.
 | For any
surgery, the very early walking and moving around will help to avoid
phlebitis and subsequent other complications. |
